BODYSHOP ONLY REPAIRS.

At southern Autokraft, we would love to undertake all kinds of repairs, but unfortunately as a mobile repairer there is only so much equipment we can fit in a van, so below is a list of repairs we simply are not equiped to do. If you are left in any doubt then please feel free to call for advice.

01

STRUCTURAL REPAIRS
Any panel misalignment directly or indirectly related to an impact may result in a need to visit to a body shop. Some exceptions can be made where a bolt on panel can be replaced, but mainly the straightening of panel gaps will probably mean that there is some damge to the vehicle structure and will possibly require the use of heavy pulling equipment which we do not possess.

02

HORIZONTAL PANELS

Bonnets and roofs need to be painted in a spraybooth/oven. This is largely due to the paint drying process. Southern Autokraft along with most other mobile body repairers use infrared heatlamps mounted on stands which do not have the reach required. Exceptions can be made for vans with semi upright bonnets.

03

EXCESSIVELY DAMAGED PANELS

The limits to which a panel can be repaired vary greatly depending on many factors. As a

general rule larger areas need to be lighter while smaller areas can be heavier. We will not

replace doors, doorskins or any other welded panels.

04

POLISHED ALLOYS

Polished alloys are becoming more and more popular. A professional repair involves the use

of equipment we do not have space for on our van.

05

SPECIALIST COLOURS

Some manufacturers will use paint that can only be replicated with a respray only. Ford for example recently painted a line of Focus ST's in a colour called electric orange which is impossible to match accurately without painting the entire vehicle!
